Pacific Crest Trail Pocket Maps

The Pacific Crest Trail Pocket Maps are a 5 volume set of maps designed by Postholer. The maps come in two versions: color, and black & white. The black & white version is one of the cheapest sets of quality maps available for the PCT.

Pros

The Pacific Crest Trail Pocket Maps come in color or black & white (whichever fits your budget). They are 7.5 inch x 7.5 inch formatted maps created from 7.5 minute USGS quads. The small size allows for easy stowage in your pack. The 5 volume set contains 707, custom topographic maps. Data book information is printed at each locale on the map, with a separate data book appendix in the back. Maps have NAD83 decimal degree tick marks for GPS use. The maps are at high resoultion: 3 inches = 1 mile. Very good for on trail navigation. 50% of all proceeds go to the PCTA, and the black & white version costs just $77.28 for a complete set (less shipping cost).

Cons

The maps use the official USFS PCT trace, which is not as accurate as Half Mile's trace. (Compare the USFS trace with Half Mile's trace using Google Earth). That said, the USFS PCT trace is still plenty accurate to navigate by. The color version costs $232.80 for the complete set (not including shipping costs), which is higher than other color alternatives.
